There are plenty of weird creatures in Utah. The
Skinwalker Ranch is famous for it's strange inhabitants. For those of
you around Salt Lake City - here's one a little closer to home...
The Murray Werewolf
I thought I saw a werewolf once in Magna, but it
turned out to be one of the residents :-)
This story about the Murray werewolf is real and was
reported by a security guard. Here is his account of the incident...
I was on patrol when dispatch called me over to the
back of the mall. One of the local residents said there were some kids
messing around back there. This was approximately 11:10 PM on February
9th. If I recall, I remember it being Monday. We usually don't have many
kids out in the winter on a Monday night.
It was not too dark for night. The moon was full and
was lighting things up pretty well. I pulled around back and my
headlights shone on a dumpster. Standing in front of it was a blond man
around 6'2" with his back to the lights facing the dumpster. He was
stark naked.
I called dispatch and said I was on the scene, when
my heart stopped in my chest. I dropped the mic. The entire backbone of
this guy suddenly bulged out about 2 or 3 inches. The thing whirled
around and looked directly at me. I'm a tough guy. I'm in martial arts
and I didn't think that anything could really scare me. I pissed my
pants right there on the seat of the cruiser.
I can only try to describe what I saw. It's eyes
locked on mine. It's eyes were not human and seemed bulging almost lamp
yellow. I was literally paralyzed in fear when it opened it's mouth to
what looked like 8 or 10 inches wide. It's mouth was full of sharp teeth
with 2 huge 3 inch fangs on both the bottom and top jaw.
This guy was morphing into something really scary
right in front of my headlights, looking right at me. Something inside
of me said GO! GET OUT OF HERE! I slammed the cruiser into reverse and
took off like a bat out of hell. I don't know what that thing was, but I
know it was no prank. It was real.
I couldn't tell anyone what I saw there. They would
think I was nuts and I would have lost my job sure thing. It changed my
life forever. Now I'm one of these guys that doesn't sleep good at night
anymore and I make sure the windows are all locked before I go to bed.
That seems silly to me in a way, because whatever that thing was, if it
wanted in your house, it wouldn't have had any problem getting in. I
also sleep with a loaded gun 2 feet away from me. I really don't think
that would do any good either.
